Miguel Ángel Acosta Rodríguez holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and a Ph.D. in Economics and Business from the same university.
He also holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Information Technologies and their Applications.
Additionally, he has earned an MBA in Management, is a certified Expert in University Senior Management, and an Expert in Public Senior Management, all from ULPGC.
His doctoral thesis focused on “accountability in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA): a framework for its analysis in the Spanish case.”
Since 1998, he has served as Secretary of the Social Council of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and since 2005, as Secretary General of the Conference of Social Councils of Spanish Universities.
In 2014, he became a member of the Accreditation Commission of ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain), and since January 2016, he has served on ANECA’s Governing Board.
He has given numerous lectures in the field of university auditing and economic control and has participated in or led numerous publications in these areas.
Lastly, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
